COVID-19 Precautions


Providing a safe setting for your next tattoo is of the utmost importance to myself and The Silver Key.  We are following both IDPH and CDC guidelines and have extensive additional protocols in place while operating during the COVID-19 pandemic.


While your next tattoo at our studio will be different from visits in the past, please understand we must follow these guidelines to best provide a safe setting for each client and for our artists.



Before your appointment:


If at any point in the 14 days leading up to your scheduled appointment you experience any signs of illness (cough, fever, shortness of breath), if you are experiencing allergies, have been in contact with anyone displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and/or have been in contact with anyone suspected or confirmed with COVID-19 please text or call me at 406.662.1408.  We will get you rescheduled.

If you feel uncomfortable, upset, or cannot comply with the guidelines below, please text 406.662.1408 and I will put you on a list for when we lift our COVID-19 guidelines. Please understand I do not know when that will be. We will be keeping these guidelines until our artists and clients feel comfortable lifting them.



When you arrive for your appointment:


No additional company/visitors will be allowed to join our clients at this time.


When you arrive for your appointment please stay in your car and text me at 406.662.1408. A digital tattoo consent form will be sent via text for you to fill out on your phone.  As always, your photo I.D. will be required for this process.


I will meet you at your car and a health screening will be done including taking your temperature with a digital, touchless thermometer


Hand sanitizer and a mask will be provided for you.  This is to be worn at all times in the studio.


Please only bring in essential items such as phones, glasses, credit card, or medically necessary items.  These items will be disinfected if possible.


Upon entering our building, you will be asked to wash their hands for 30+ seconds at our designated handwashing stations supplied with hand soap and single-use paper towels.  Proper hand washing instructions will be posted.


Waiting/common areas are currently closed.  We will be in my booth during your stay at the studio.  



After your appointment:


If you become ill, whether suspected/confirmed COVID-19 or otherwise within 14 days of your appointment I ask that you PLEASE contact me as soon as possible at 406.662.1408  I will be doing the same.


I may reach out after your appointment to see how the tattoo is healing and to see if you are doing well.  Given the current availability of testing (or lack thereof), it is all of our responsibility to reach out to anyone we have had close contact with and let them know if they may have been exposed to this illness.  We will be doing the same.


Additional Measures at the studio



As stated above our studio is following disinfection protocol as suggested by IDPH and CDC while adding even more rigourous and routine cleaning to all areas of our shop with a heightened focus on common surfaces (desk tops, counters, door knobs, etc).  This is on top of our typical disinfection and cleaning in our normal, daily routines as a tattoo studio.  Our artists and staff undergo daily health screenings including monitoring our temperatures.  In the event of illness of our artists/staff or any recent clientele, the affected artists/staff will be isolated and required to quarantine for 14 days or longer as per physician’s orders.  Contact tracing will be done to the best of our ability to alert any additional clientele of the possible exposure.  From the point of contact (whether we are ill or a client has notified us of an illness since visiting the studio) we will be reaching out to anyone who may have been in contact either with the artist or client in question.
